Dr. Ashis Chatterjee’s journey is a shining example of how one individual’s vision and compassion can transform thousands of lives. His leadership in establishing and sustaining charitable clinics has built a legacy of hope, healing, and humanity. Guided by Rotary’s motto “Service Above Self”, he ensures that the poorest sections of society receive healthcare at minimal or no cost.

Founder of Arogya Sadan Charitable Clinic, established in 1978 at Durgapur Station Bazaar.
Over 50 years’ experience in homoeopathic medicine and community healthcare.
Played a key role in promoting low-cost homoeopathic treatment through Rotary initiatives.
Initiated 20 charitable clinics in Durgapur (2003–04).
The project was implemented under Rotary Foundation Matching Grant No. 22844 with support from RI District 3290 (Nepal) and District 3240.

Treated more than 100,000 patients across diverse medical conditions.
Conducted free homoeopathic health camps and provided low-cost or free medicines to underprivileged patients.
Two of the charitable clinics established through his initiative continue to serve the community today.
